Kathryn Walsh and Matthias Beck, from the moment these two meet sparks fly。 This was such a fun book to read。 1865, Kathryn is banished to the town of Calvada in the Sierra Nevadas because she is too outspoken as a woman from an elite family in Boston。 It doesn't take long for the citizens of Calvada to realize how outspoken she is and then the real action starts。 If you're looking for something lighthearted to read then check this one out。 Kathryn Walsh and Matthias Beck, from the moment these two meet sparks fly。 This was such a fun book to read。 1865, Kathryn is banished to the town of Calvada in the Sierra Nevadas because she is too outspoken as a woman from an elite family in Boston。 It doesn't take long for the citizens of Calvada to realize how outspoken she is and then the real action starts。 If you're looking for something lighthearted to read then check this one out。 。。。more
Kim Willis,
I do not normally write reviews。 This book was disappointing it was a very simple read。 I usually love Francine Rivers’ books due to their Christian and biblically-based content。 I found this book not so。 It had some reference to Christianity that was very superficial。 It was also a very predictable romance book。 I have been anticipating this book coming out since it was first announced and was disappointed。 A good romance and simple book to read but not Francine Rivers normal style。
Jennifer,
Redeeming Love is my favorite book so it was nice to see Rivers return to the same time period with this one。It was a lot of fun with great characters and some nice surprises along the way。
Brittaney Borman,
It's been a long wait for a new Francine Rivers book and when I finally got it, I couldn't put it down。 Something about Matthias and Kathryn captured me from the first page。 It's a lighter read than some of her previous releases, at least in tone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it。 It's been a long wait for a new Francine Rivers book and when I finally got it, I couldn't put it down。 Something about Matthias and Kathryn captured me from the first page。 It's a lighter read than some of her previous releases, at least in tone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it。 。。。more
Beth Wyant,
It’s Francine Rivers! Of course her newest, more lighthearted saga is five stars! This is her pandemic book and as she says, “it harkens back to her roots as a romance writer。” The story is about a displaced Boston suffragette and a disinherited Union soldier in an 1870’s silver mining town and it’s a rollicking good time!
Carol Slifka,
Another excellent book by Francine Rivers。 I hated to see it end。

This book is Redeeming Love meets When Calls the Heart but was good。 Enjoyed it and her books are always easy reads。

Francine Rivers is one one of my absolute favorite authors。 I love everything she has written。 She is tops。 The Lady’s Mine is right up there with the best。 I could not put it down。 She describes her characters and scenes so vividly that you have no trouble picturing it in your mind as if you were right there。 There are very few books that I will read a second time but Rivers books are worth a second read。 There is so much to this book that I can’t just pick out a scene or happening, you must re Francine Rivers is one one of my absolute favorite authors。 I love everything she has written。 She is tops。 The Lady’s Mine is right up there with the best。 I could not put it down。 She describes her characters and scenes so vividly that you have no trouble picturing it in your mind as if you were right there。 There are very few books that I will read a second time but Rivers books are worth a second read。 There is so much to this book that I can’t just pick out a scene or happening, you must read it for yourself。 You will certainly find out what I am speaking of。 If I could give it more than 5 stars , I would…。。I was gifted a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and I am happy to leave a review。 。。。more

3。75🌟A delightfully old-fashioned (but clean) historical romance, The Lady's Mine is a fun western romp with a strong-minded suffragette heroine and a hero who has to learn it's better to work with her than try to stop her。Robin’s Ratings5🌟 = Out of this world。 Amazing。 Unforgettable。 A personal favorite。4🌟 = Excellent read。 Couldn’t put it down。 Will recommend to others。3🌟 = It kept me engaged/entertained。 Glad I read it。2🌟 = The book was fine but not a favorite。 Just a matter of personal taste 3。75🌟A delightfully old-fashioned (but clean) historical romance, The Lady's Mine is a fun western romp with a strong-minded suffragette heroine and a hero who has to learn it's better to work with her than try to stop her。Robin’s Ratings5🌟 = Out of this world。 Amazing。 Unforgettable。 A personal favorite。4🌟 = Excellent read。 Couldn’t put it down。 Will recommend to others。3🌟 = It kept me engaged/entertained。 Glad I read it。2🌟 = The book was fine but not a favorite。 Just a matter of personal taste。1🌟 = For whatever reason, this book didn’t engage me。 。。。more

quick and easy readFrancine Rivers is a talented storyteller, weaving history through her fictional storylines。 This storyline was very interesting and kept my attention to the end。 Great plot twists and turns kept me intrigued and the pages turning。

The Lady's MineFrancine Rivers has a God given talent for writing the best stories。 Kathryn and Matthias is a good Love story about falling in love and caring about others。 Sometimes making you smile or laugh and making you angry and frightful。 I've read all her books and most of them were so good I hated to see them end。 I wish she had more to read。 The Lady's MineFrancine Rivers has a God given talent for writing the best stories。 Kathryn and Matthias is a good Love story about falling in love and caring about others。 Sometimes making you smile or laugh and making you angry and frightful。 I've read all her books and most of them were so good I hated to see them end。 I wish she had more to read。 。。。more

4。5Francine Rivers does it again!Ugh, I adore reading from this era of time, and Rivers does a great job writing it。 I found myself connecting with Kathryn a great deal, as were both stubborn writers who have a compassionate nature。 And Matthias! That man made me swoon。 His southern drawl was simply too much for my heart to handle, and I want to marry someone like him。 Such an enjoyable and edifying read。
Irina Vaganov ,
Amazing, as always!

3。5 stars rounded up to four。 A good, wholesome historical fiction, but nothing that wowed me or stood out from the rest。 Maybe my expectations were too high after obsessing over Redeeming Love and The Masterpiece。
Sara,
Overall, I really liked this book (but honestly can never resist books set during the Gold Rush…)。 The beginning fell a little flat for me, because I didn’t find the characters and their interactions very believable。 That does change, and the second half of the book is really good。 I LOVED all the secondary characters, including that there were so many—it made it seem like a real small town where everyone is always in everyone’s business。 I also loved the mystery aspect that I totally didn’t exp Overall, I really liked this book (but honestly can never resist books set during the Gold Rush…)。 The beginning fell a little flat for me, because I didn’t find the characters and their interactions very believable。 That does change, and the second half of the book is really good。 I LOVED all the secondary characters, including that there were so many—it made it seem like a real small town where everyone is always in everyone’s business。 I also loved the mystery aspect that I totally didn’t expect。 I appreciate that Kathryn is a heroine that stands up for what she believes is right…but people don’t take her seriously because she’s a woman in the 1870s。 That’s realistic, and makes her all the more admirable。 。。。more

Whew! I can have my life back now! 😅 Francine Rivers’ new novel is as gripping as Redeeming Love, if not as powerful, and a heck of a lot more fun。 It came in the mail on Friday afternoon。 I made the mistake of taking a peek at the first few pages though I had other books I planned to read first。 Some hooks hit hard and fast, and you can’t help but swallow。。A romance wreathed in humor with a decisive nod to Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, The Lady’s Mine will take you on a Wild West adven Whew! Michael Ann Watson,
I am a fan of Francine Rivers and have enjoyed all her books。 This one was a little slow to start。 It sounded like many other books of girl meets boy; they do not like each other then they marry and live happily everafter。。 But, the more the story evolved the more interesting it became。 People living now days that complain about everything should have to go back to this time period and try to live for awhile。 Women did not have any say in anything unless they had a good husband who appreciated I am a fan of Francine Rivers and have enjoyed all her books。 This one was a little slow to start。 It sounded like many other books of girl meets boy; they do not like each other then they marry and live happily everafter。。 But, the more the story evolved the more interesting it became。 People living now days that complain about everything should have to go back to this time period and try to live for awhile。 Women did not have any say in anything unless they had a good husband who appreciated their helpmate。 She did a good job of showing how difficult life was for many people at that time。 I was not sure if Kathryn was smart or stupid, brave or stupid。 She did a lot of things that should have gotten her in a lot of trouble。 Matthias is the good guy in town and if he wasn't there the town would have died There was also the bad guy who treated everyone terrible。 I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a feel good book。 。。。more

Francine Rivers is one of my favorite authors。 I’ve been impatiently waiting for the release of “A Lady’s Mine,” and I wasn’t disappointed。 I liked Kathryn from the start。 She fought against discrimination from the time she stepped off the stagecoach。 Mathias’s interest in her was cloaked in humor in the first part of the book。 I think her determination and her will to succeed showed him a different side of her。 It was evident that both characters grew over the course of the book。 The faith aspe Francine Rivers is one of my favorite authors。 I’ve been impatiently waiting for the release of “A Lady’s Mine,” and I wasn’t disappointed。 I liked Kathryn from the start。 She fought against discrimination from the time she stepped off the stagecoach。 Mathias’s interest in her was cloaked in humor in the first part of the book。 I think her determination and her will to succeed showed him a different side of her。 It was evident that both characters grew over the course of the book。 The faith aspect of the book was a nice balance。 It was obvious but not overbearing。I was provided a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest review。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

I feel like this book is closest to 4 stars。 I finished the book in less than 2 days so it was good but not great。 it isn’t a favorite but there were parts where I definitely laughed。 A lot。 I was disappointed that the ending happened so quickly。 It felt like more was needed after everything in between。 The more I thought about it, the more I felt like it just dropped off。 I mean, you don’t even know at the end if she had one baby or twins?
