I do not normally write reviews。 This book was disappointing it was a very simple read。 I usually love Francine Rivers’ books due to their Christian and biblically-based content。 I found this book not so。 It had some reference to Christianity that was very superficial。 It was also a very predictable romance book。 I have been anticipating this book coming out since it was first announced and was disappointed。 A good romance and simple book to read but not Francine Rivers normal style。

Redeeming Love is my favorite book so it was nice to see Rivers return to the same time period with this one。It was a lot of fun with great characters and some nice surprises along the way。

It’s Francine Rivers！ Of course her newest， more lighthearted saga is five stars！ This is her pandemic book and as she says， “it harkens back to her roots as a romance writer。” The story is about a displaced Boston suffragette and a disinherited Union soldier in an 1870’s silver mining town and it’s a rollicking good time！

4。5Francine Rivers does it again！Ugh， I adore reading from this era of time， and Rivers does a great job writing it。 I found myself connecting with Kathryn a great deal， as were both stubborn writers who have a compassionate nature。 And Matthias！ That man made me swoon。 His southern drawl was simply too much for my heart to handle， and I want to marry someone like him。 Such an enjoyable and edifying read。

I am a fan of Francine Rivers and have enjoyed all her books。 This one was a little slow to start。 It sounded like many other books of girl meets boy; they do not like each other then they marry and live happily everafter。。 But， the more the story evolved the more interesting it became。 People living now days that complain about everything should have to go back to this time period and try to live for awhile。 Women did not have any say in anything unless they had a good husband who appreciated I am a fan of Francine Rivers and have enjoyed all her books。 This one was a little slow to start。 It sounded like many other books of girl meets boy; they do not like each other then they marry and live happily everafter。。 But， the more the story evolved the more interesting it became。 People living now days that complain about everything should have to go back to this time period and try to live for awhile。 Women did not have any say in anything unless they had a good husband who appreciated their helpmate。 She did a good job of showing how difficult life was for many people at that time。 I was not sure if Kathryn was smart or stupid， brave or stupid。 She did a lot of things that should have gotten her in a lot of trouble。 Matthias is the good guy in town and if he wasn't there the town would have died There was also the bad guy who treated everyone terrible。 I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a feel good book。 。。。more
